If I hear the music, I'm gonna dance.

FREE HAMBO WORKSHOP | VIENNESE WALTZ | MANY THANKS TO MAL & LINDA! |
SUNDAY WALTZ SCHEDULE |
Don't stand around and watch other dancers glide and pivot through the hambo anymore! Learn this Swedish folk dance from experts Lisa Brooks and Dan Kahn, who will lead a FREE hambo workshop on Sunday, November 2, prior to that day's waltz with Rose by the Door.
The lesson runs from 2 - 3 pm, and the cost of the one-hour lesson is included in your paid admission to the waltz that day ($8 as usual). There's no registration - just show up at the Spanish Ballroom around 1:45 pm. BTW, we will still have our regular beginner waltz lesson at 3 pm, so stick around for that too - if you already know how to waltz, your expertise will surely help our new dancers and give them a fine introduction to the friendly spirit of our dance community.
The National Society of Arts and Letters is proud to present their Viennese Ball on Saturday, November 15. Waltz Time presents our readers with the following information that we received from NSAL Member Martie Goebel:
The exciting program features the incomparable ConBrio! Orchestra, a splendid vocal
performance interlude with the marvelous soprano Danielle Talamantes, a lavish Viennese dessert buffet,
and open wine bar. There will be a Grand March and the Fledermaus Quadrille will be taught. Don't miss this chance to experience
a Viennese Waltz Ball in the exquisitely appointed 19th century ballroom of the Cosmos Club.
Tickets are available
for the champagne reception, ball and dessert buffet starting at 6:30 p.m, or you may choose to also join us for a champagne
reception and four-course seated dinner in the lovely Cosmos Club dining room before the Ball. Tickets are $160 for the dinner and ball
or $95 for dessert buffet and ball. The Cosmos Club Ballroom is located at 2200 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. For
complete details and to make reservations visit National Society for Arts & Letters.
On Sunday, October 19, Mal and Linda Zerden presented a wonderful two-step workshop just prior to our regular Sunday Waltz that day. The workshop was very well attended, and among many splendid comments was this one from Rob Sadowski:
The country two-step instruction by the visiting instructors at Sunday's waltz was excellent. They taught top notch basic skills and techniques for the leader and follower (I have taken many country two-step classes in years past), stayed on task, were professional, attentive, and listened to attendees, while presenting their wealth of knowledge in a pleasant, coherent manner.
We also thank the Oklahoma Twisters for a very pleasant afternoon of country-flavored waltzes and two-step dances.Sunday Afternoon Waltzes begin with an introductory waltz lesson from 3 - 3:30 pm, | ||
