Sunday Waltz, 2/18/24

Fortune cookie says: You are destined to attend a waltz with DESTINO — Paul Oorts (accordion, mandolin, banjo, guitar), Tom Wright (ten-string Brazilian-style mandolin), Charlie Pilzer (piano) and Susan Brandt (flute) — in the Spanish Ballroom, Sunday, February 18.

A beginner waltz lesson at 2:45 is included with admission of $15 per person ($5 for students), payable at the door in cash or by check. Music from 3:30-6:00. No partner required and ALL are welcome.

Glen Echo Park is OPEN

As you may know, Glen Echo Park was closed on Friday thanks to the snow. It has now re-opened.

Yes, the Spanish Ballroom will be chilly on Sunday, but a sunny day, with temperatures warmer than today’s, is predicted.

Larry Unger heads the band with local favorites Elke Baker and Carrie Rose. Larry, a musician and composer well-known to many of us waltzers, is based in Massachusetts; we wouldn’t want him to think that DC-MD-VA residents are scared of a cold temp!

Don some layers, put on your dance shoes and game face and help warm up the ballroom this Sunday, 7/21. Beginner waltz lesson at 2:45; music from 3:30-6:00 p.m.

The weather prognosticators say the temperature will be in the mid-to-high 50s, perfect for dancing in the Spanish Ballroom. As always, the beginner waltz lesson at 2:45 is included with admission of $15 per person ($5 for students); music from 3:30-6:00. No partner required and ALL are welcome.
