Fast Waltz Survival, Glen Echo, 4/20/24, 2-4 pm

Do you want to survive the fast-tempo Viennese dances at Waltz Time’s “Evening with Strauss” Ball, but feel disinclined to delve deeply into formal Ballroom-Viennese technique? Join instructors Tony Treston and Katherine Anderson at Glen Echo for the Fast-Waltz Survival Workshop, Saturday, April 20, 2:00-4:00 pm., for a workshop targeted to folk waltzers and beginner dancers who plan to attend the ball on April 27. Experienced folk waltz teachers Tony and Katherine will introduce you to a hybrid style designed to guide you elegantly through quick-paced waltzes and bi-directional turns.

Prepare for the ball with this practical workshop, specially priced at $10 ($5 for full-time students). More information is available on the Glen Echo Park Events Calendar: https://glenechopark.org/node/4048 (don’t search in the “Dance Class” section).

Note: The tempo is fast, not the workshop, which includes approximately 1-1/4 hours of instruction followed by supervised practice.

Evening with Strauss Ball, Saturday, April 27, 2024, waltz lesson at 8:00, music at 9:00.
