YOU’RE INVITED!  This message serves as your official invitation to the Waltz Time dance on Sunday, October 10, in the Glen Echo Spanish Ballroom, and to our upcoming dates in 2021 (Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, and Dec. 5 all in the ballroom, and Dec 19 in the Pavilion). In accordance with Glen Echo Partnership’s policy, tickets may not be sold at the door.  As advance sales are not possible at this time, we request from our invitees a donation of $15 to reimburse Waltz Time for the band, sound, and ballroom rental costs (children 12 and under: free, full-time students: $5). If you know other local waltzers who may want to attend but may not have seen this message, they are welcome on Oct. 10th. Please let us know at or so that we can invite them too. If you or your guests would like to be invited to future dances, to comply with GEPPAC and Montgomery County policies, we must ask that everyone’s email address be on our invitee list. 

Remember that our 2021 events are open to VACCINATED DANCERS ONLY, and MASKS ARE MANDATORY IN THE BALLROOM. Per the information at our web site, please bring your completed vax record card (or a photo thereof) to the dance on Sunday, or email us a picture at We will not keep these; we will just note your name to confirm you are vaxed so you don’t have to repeat this for future waltzes. 

Waltzing returns, Sunday, 10/10

A reminder that waltzing resumes next Sunday, October 10. Music will be provided by DEVINE COMEDY: Steve Hickman, Marty Taylor, John Devine and Brian Farrell. Beginner waltz lesson at 2:45 pm; dancing from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Admission is $15. No partner necessary and ALL are welcome.

Dancing in the time of Covid requires some adjustments, of course. Proof of vaccination is required and masks must be worn at all times in the ballroom. It’s been a long, long time since we last gathered. Since we’ll all be masked, we’ll provide labels to use as name badges and we hope you’ll wear them.

Pull out your dancing shoes, dust them off, then put them to use!

Labor Day weekend dance, 9/5/21

A heads up for Labor Day weekend: GEPPAC will once again host a free event on Sunday, September 5, in the Bumper Car Pavilion. Waltz Time will participate with a two-hour dance featuring music by Liz Donaldson (piano) and Alexander Mitchell (violin), who are scheduled to play from 2:00-4:00 p.m. More details (proof of vaccination? masking? limit on attendance?) as they become available. If there are changes to the schedule, information will be sent by email and posted to Waltz Time’s Facebook page. In the meantime, SAVE THE DATE!

Terpsichore concert Saturday, 6/12

Message from Liz Donaldson:

Outdoor Concert this Saturday, June 12, at 3 pm in Columbia, MD (rain date Sun 13th). Terpsichore: Elke Baker (fiddle), me (piano), and Ralph Gordon (bass) — yes WITH Ralph this time!! Will be playing music from Scotland, England, America and elsewhere.

Requested donation $20, bring mask to wear when getting situated, a folding chair, though some will be available. Send Liz a Facebook message for more info.
